Would you do anything different if you did it again (modify)

Featured Replies

Hi all, had my vrs estate a few days now and cant beleive how awesome it is, really impressed with it. Ive put a deposit on some wheels and I pick some coilovers up on tuesday from Venom Motorsport, im going to polybush everything and fit an uprated ARB and fit a RARB. My reason for the question in my title is that i intend to do the engine mods alot differant than i did with my Golf Anniversary as i did it a balls about way last time, im hoping to go straight to stage 2 this time around. So Would anybody do anything differant? cheers Yatsy

Yeah... I wouldve got the 5x100 8.5x19s and not planned ahead so much :(

And a s3 upper brace not the furking jom

I wouldve keep all my oem bits too

Lloyd ur rims are awesome! Why the regret?

If I was starting from scratch yes, suspension and brakes first then other mods.

Actually if I was starting from scratch I'd buy a 4x4 Estate and start there.

Yep same, brakes, suspension first then deal with engine

If i went with the 5x100 they wouldve been 8.5x19s mate

I went with 5x112 and adaptors so could take them to my next car so are the 8x19s

But it seems im damned to keep my octy lol

If i did it again i wouldn't have bought a vrs, I would same as rob and have bought a 20v turbo 4x4 altho i would have bought saloon one as i don't need estate.

I also wouldn't have bought coilovers altho it handles like a go kart its abit hard for daily running about

I'd have loved to go to town on a 4x4 estate

however suspension mods for it are even more expensive than for a vrs

4x4 is fun but takes a good few £ to get setup properly

If you knew what I'd spent on my car already.. :) And mine's not particularly extreme in any way.

Lol very true rob :-)

Bought new suspension first! I've got a very well sorted car on 100k old shockers, need to get some coils to properly make use of my huge ARBs.

Still, I think I've done well regardless.

I would have learn't about car detailing first and picked a car with a better example of paint work. Still stayed with a high miller. Wouldn't of let my Dad convenience me to get a cheap uni part SMF clutch. would have done the suspension yonks ago. Other than that.. quite happy.

Oh, I would have forgotten stage 1 and gone to stage 2. Much cheaper.

Wouldn't bother with the FSD's again, not firm enough for me.

I've been lucky and managed to get the bits at the right price as I went along, still in 2 minds whether or not to get a remap but if I do my suspension has been sorted for it lol

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!
