finding out a skodas history?

Featured Replies

hi guys..just flicking through my service history and i havent got a lot of receipts just skoda stamps. now is there any way that skoda can go back through their records and see what work has been done in the past?

just curious really :D

Skoda UK Customer Services are very helpful when asked about past Warranty Work done,

but that IME is regarding cars still in Manufacturers Warranty.

I called up VW care to find out about my service history too, they stamped my book up for free. You can also do an MOT history check online at directgov with all of the car's past MOTs.

Can they? Yes, absolutely

Will they? Probably not, sorry. They'll tell you anything they've done at their expense but not what the previous owner(s) has/have paid for.

The dilemma is thus: It's your car, you've paid for it so you should be entitled to the information v. The Data Protection Act implies that what a previous owner did or didn't have done to his car (& particularly what he paid or didn't pay for it) is none of your damn business.

It's a farce & really needs official clarification of the position. Unfortunately, the bonfire of the Quangos means this is unlikely.
