Got to get a new battery for my 2006 1.2 HTP. The old one seems to be an 012 according to the size but measurements indicate that an 027 will just about fit lengthwise. The only difference is that the old thermal jacket will be too small for the 027. Do I need the jacket?

An 027 would be better as the Ah and CCA are much better. Euro parts price for an 027 is very competitive with the 25% off.

I'm no expert, but is there achange there will be an issue fitting a bigger battery in terms of the alternator or something?

It will be designed to supply a charge of a certain amount, but the battery will require more.

Maybe it puts extra strain on it or soemthing? Dunno, but its worth a check I guess.
