Ice on car glass?

Featured Replies

Just wondered why every morning I'm scraping my windscreen on the octavia & next doors mini cooper is ALWAYS clear!

Is it something they are using when cleaning it or what!?

I used to find that if I had used rain x on my glass it made a difference- not totally deiced but definitely lighter. Also they may be using pre- icer- product that you spray on the glass the night before and is supposed to stop it from icing. Have to say I found this to be carp and not work but I do know it exists!

It's to do with the angle if the screen...

Do you reverse on to your drive and is the mini driven nose first on to its drive? If so the heat escaping from the houses could be just enough to prvent the mini's windscreen from icing up.

My Cooper used to ice up as much as other cars I've had, although the heated windscreen (combined with heated seats) used to make it much more bearable

So that would explain why all the vag owners in the road are scraping in the mornings then! Golfs, leons, ibizas & TT's!

I park on street facing downhill and next door park facing uphill,

Mine catchs morning sun on windscreen and de ices itself as where next door doesn't and is frozen solid on a morning

Its because God hates you.

I know that this can happen because I park next to a building and what ever side is closest to the building is always frost/ice free. Its just a pity that it didn't do my whole windscreen :( :giggle:
