How much off of list is £26750 (if anything)?

DTD list it at £26,400, and that's before any discount.

£145 I believe

£23,327 on carfile with discount, but probably add a few hundred to that for metallic paint option.

Metallic paint is around £450. Just for info.

Thats gone up to £495 Richard, the salesman was quick to show me the new brochure price when I ordered my new yeti,

Good to see L&Ks are holding their value well!

Why is metallic paint £500 more expensive?

Does it REALLY cost that much more for the paint and/or the application?

Some audi paint colours are £2115...... Only solid colours for me, black or white, the rest is a waste of money.....

Makes a mockery of the Daily Mail's claim re 99% value after a year then, as the above example prices indicate 87% in zero days!

I know you can't compare a main dealer price with the discount boys, but the whole Yeti "what's it worth" thing is very subjective.

Glasses trade guide gives these figures for a 2012/12 SE with 10k miles.

Cost when new - £18335

P/ex value - £15600 (85% retained)

Private sale - £16400 (89% retained)

Dealer used price - £17395 (95% retained)*

*Ignore this figure though as does not represent the seller's 5% loss and is probably what the Daily Mail based their survey on.

The 3 year p/ex on the same model with 30k miles is given as 73% of original price.

As impressive as these figures are (and they are very impressive), they demonstrate that used car values can be used to suit whatever you are trying to illustrate.

Actually the solid "free" colours often cost the manufacturer more, as they are less popular than say "silver". It's just pricing to what the market will take :)

In some countries you can have whatever colour you like and they are all the same price - metallic and solids alike. So exactly as Totally Square says: things are priced to what the market will take.

And nearly every car manufacturer is the same.
