New 2014 Fabia design?

Featured Replies

I`d consider a VRS diesel too!! Especially an estate!

It's going to look almost exactly the same as the Rapid IMO, which looks almost exactly the same as the new Octavia.

Except it'll be a hatchback.

It seems car makers are now into the corporate look. So It's not hard to guess what it's going to be like.

Will be nice to see what they do with the new VRS.

I think in this price bracket it is more dictated by manufacturing costs and sharing parts with other models from the stable than sheer design ability.

Then you look at Citroen or Renault who always had bold designs, not always liked of course.

I wish they went for something really ground breaking design wise - there's plenty fresh automotive design talent to draw from!

I highly doubt it it will be a diesel like the MKI was.

Skoda Motorsport will be entering with an R5 spec Fabia which means it will have to have a 1.6l turbo engine.

Before that happens, Skoda will have to put this engine into production at least in one Fabia and I bet you it will most certainly be introduced in the MKIII vRS.

While I agree 32K, they could do what SEAT have done with the current Ibiza and still release a large capacity (for a small car) diesel.

That 2.0 diesel small hatchback with options like Xenons that SEAT will sell you shows up Skodas limited choice of small diesel cars IMO, even though they had the success of the mk1 VRS to build on.

I know Skoda can't use it because they are the only one still using the old setup, but they still missed a big trick IMO.

Me too - a 1.6 doesn't cut it with 105bhp. Missed a lot of customers I think.

The next one will come with a decent diesel I imagine.

Wanted xenons in my Rapid but no option...

I believe this to be correct, and even then the rear hatch will have elements of the Rapid/Octavia/Superb Combi Facelift.

Seems the whole triangular design on the boot will follow over onto the Fabia, it's not going to be revolutionary and certainly won't be groundbreaking....

I'd love to see something that breaks the mould however as its Skoda can't see that happening :(

I love the mk2 styling apart from the height of it, so hopefully that's something that is sorted with the mk3

Strangely enough I do like the height of vRS, it grew on me. 1,6 twincharged for new vRS Fabia I say! Release it in 205 bhp and 300Nm factory tune and you have a winner :).

Never going to happen!

It'll be 1.6T with 190 ish bhp if the Octavia 3 vRS has 220bhp as planned.

My dealer said 2015 for the new vRS.

Tony

2015 would be a good time trade up for a new model - still 2 years warranty left so private sale price will be good as well I suppose/hope...

if it is to be 1.6 TSi with just turbe at least let it be VVT/VGT variety - that would kick some derriere and would be very much like the twincharger with stupid amount of boost from the word go :)

Similar to the Ford 1.6t and Renault 1.6t.

Don't vw do a 1.6t in the golf?

Wanted xenons in my Rapid but no option...

Don't worry too much about that - if you haven't already discovered the Rapid lights are a fair bit better than the Fabia ones even without xenon.
