trying to get my 4x4 off the ground

Featured Replies

right then my 4x4 has been off the road for ages now and i have had a few setbacks and things get in the way of me starting it, now i think the time is right and things are good to go.

trying to sort out a few things and get my head around some other stuff and straighten out my plan with some suggestions from you lot, i have looked around alot and my mind is all over the place

going to fit the cast wishbones from an r32/tt with the part number 8no 407 166/165 so while dropping the subframe might aswell put some nicer bushes in there

looking about its suggested that SPF3397K super pro bushes are the items of choice for the wishbones any others needed?

what bushes do people swap out for the subframe ones? cupra r? or tt ones?

am i missing anything that should be done while its dropped? i have already got steering rack bushes upgraded

are there any better top mounts that can be used for my coilovers ?

lots of questions here i appreciate hopefully all easy to answer

when i get going i suppose a build thread is in order :wonder:

cheers guys

use TT rear arm bushes - good price from ecp/carpart4less

might as well do front bush while you are there

standard topmounts are fine, again lemforder from ecp are good if yours need replaced

consider new ball joints if old ones are past best, and finally r32 arb and new bushes for it too

:-)

Cupra R topmounts are better, but expensive with it. There is also Powerflex topmounts available.

Leon cupra R top mounts on mine, work great.

I have the full superpro kit on mine front and back, tightens the handling up no end (however i did fit R32 23mm front and Neuspeed 25mm rear ARB at the same time)

do you know which superpro pack numbers i should be using for the 4x4 with the cast wishones, is it pretty much anything from this list, obviously bar the engine ones?

For the cast wishbones you need bush set SPF3397K (rear with castor fix) & SPF3394K (front)

You can use all the bushes for the rear end.

You get two choices of lateral control arm: SPF2540K (standard) is the one to use with adjustable tie bars

Good to see you getting the project started again

- what kit have you already got ?

FMIC

and clive at cntuning has kindly said he will come down to sort my mapping out

The short ratios gears of the 6spd box are setup for the higher boost threshold of the K04

More LSD options for the 6spd boxes as well, should you get the funds

You should look at H&R matching ARB set too

there is that thought that i would eventually get to a similar setup as yours as your on spool and boost/ power delivery are perfect imo including the diffs

getting the 02m makes sense while everything is out and simpler to achieve and get it working in a more basic setup

if i do fit diffs then i will be doing the diesel 6th and more power too, but that is a stage for later on

what manifold/downpipe are you onto now? very interested in your full spec, pm me if its easier

Sounds like a plan

I'm on an APR Australia equal length under-slung mani at the mo, specs PM'd
