Basically another case of pink paintwork, and an engine which has a working starter motor and that seems to be about it. Real barn find! :D

Not moved in a while....

Interesting choice of wheels too. Don't see these about really.

Yep, you have a problem.

Welcome to the funny farm club. :D

Lol! Can the NHS treat you?

No, I heard it was terminal

(terminal collecting of crap cars :D)

I've a notion that those wheels came from a 924S, or possibly a special edition.

"TRAX OSCAM" - googling this brought up that it is an afetrmarket wheel favoured in the VW market. However to find them in 4*108 is quite rare I "think" as that size in the early/mid 80s was only found on the Audi 80 and Audi 100. nothing else was 4*108 with the correct centre bore of 57.1mm

OK - Now i have all 3 :D

Middle one is the new one. One on the left is the original, and one on the right, my donor.

Only spent an hour or less on it today. Just thought I would see what the bonnet was like so attacked it fairly gently with some tough wet and dry, and was cutting in to the good paint much easier than I was with the first one. Good news. Still not sure on the rest of the car though.

Got the whole bonnet looking like the bit on the left by the end of my little stint. More refinement with finer wet & dry over the rainy weekend.

924s?

Haven't got a spare dashboard have you?

They're all just 2 litres - and yes I have a spare uncracked dash, but its going in my first 924 when I eventually sort out the interior..... :D I have a spare cracked dash if you really want one - can have for free if you can remove it (in the donor at the moment)

You really have a problem Jase - At least it's a decent marque!

Whats the attraction? You trying to turn a quick buck on them?

Or are you putting the Mongrel engine in one of them?!

An increase in value would be a nice aim, but to be honest, its more about making something crap, look better without too much actual expense, ignoring my time of course.... I simply enjoy the turnaround!

Ok, thanks. Friend is doing a similar thing to you and needs a dash. I'll pass the info on, any chances of a pic of the cracked dash to pass on?

  • 4 weeks later...

Can you actually make a good one out of the three?

Aiming to, yes

They do this on the telly - it's called Wheeler Dealers. I think I'd call it Porschomainia myself. Good luck.
