VRS remote key also opens my Polo?

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2007 vrs le and a 2003 polo.

I have recently noticed that my spare vrs key also unlocks the polo on the remote.

The main vrs remote only unlocks the vrs and both polo remote only open the polo.

When I first got the polo second hand it only had one key which i bought another second hand remote and programed it via a procedure of locking and unlocking etc. I found on youtube. The only thing i can think was the spare vrs key was within range and has maybe picked this up?

Has the vrs spare key got both the code for the vrs and polo OR does the polo have the code for the vrs spare key?

What do i need to do to stop this?

Thanks Dave

It's been noted before that it is possible to end up with a glitch that another vw group car will pick up another fob off another car. It's not very common but it can happen. I'm not sure how you can clear it maybe disconnecting the battery not sure

Happened to me with a Skoda Superb on work. It forgot it after a couple of days.

Happened to me, My old Bora learned to recognise my SDIs key.

I'd bet the OP has left the polo running (ie keys in ignition) perhaps to

clear ice/warm up? And then set about unlocking the Fabia with its spare key to start

scraping that one.

The Polo was in range and inadvertantly in learn mode.

Thus it has learned to recognise the fob of the Fabia.

Hopefully this will help you rectify things.

That is exactly what i do when the ice is about and they are normally parked next to each other.

I watched the video but there appears to be no sound? Ill have another search on youtube and see what i can find.

Thought so ;)
