Decided to take the plunge....

and bought a Skoda!

I'm due to collect it later this week and can't wait. Friends aren't quite sure how to react when I tell them I'm buying an Octavia, but it's obviously not 'cool'!

Pah....... I don't care though.... I've got a huge grin on my face and am more than happy with my new purchase.

Welcome :)

Welcome to the Skoda club. It's a common 'problem' which a fair few of us suffer! Normally a ride in the passenger seat sorts them out, unless of course they're badge snobs. Then it's just a case of letting tbem get on with it and quiety smiling to yourself. A look in the boot usually surprises a good few too, which is bigger than most of the opposition. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Octy, irrespective of what your friends think

LOL. I know they're not being intentionally rude or ignorant (i've probably been guilty of it myself in the past).

It's quite amusing to just watch peoples reaction, and listen to them try to be polite and complimentary, whilst at the same time not poo-pooing my choice, to which they can see I'm pleased as punch about! I can't seem to remove the grin on my face to be honest.

(That may happen sooner than planned, once the realisation of having a cream interior really means to me!!!!...eeeek!)

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the group. We've all been through the same phase when we were younger. But now we know better and can laugh at the rest that haven't.

Cream....ooo eer! Might be a good idea to treat it to prevent staining- gtecniq do some good stuff depending whether it's cloth or leather. If you have a search or post something in the stying and care section if you can't find a suitable thread some of the chaps or chapesses who have similar will be able to help.

here's a starter for 10 as bamber would say....

I'm actually only collecting the car today, as I've been waiting for it to be 'supagarded'. Hopefully it will help protect the interior, although I know I shall have to be far more diligent when it comes to car care.....not my strong point! I may well post for advice too, as you've kingly suggested. Thank you.

Getting ready to say goodbye to my megane which I have to say has served me well for the past nine years.

enjoy your new car

who cares what your friends think, it's your car not theirs

Hi. Just thought I'd pop back to say I've got my new car and it's great! Everyone who's seen it has been very pleasantly surprised too.

And so they should be! Enjoy the new wheels.
