2010 VRs passenger wind noise

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Firstly I'm sorry if this topic has raised its ugly head in the past, but could not pinpoint any exact threads.

Wondering if anyone has had the same issues as me with my 2010 Vrs passenger side wind noise? Happens between 70-80mph, have had it into Skoda a number of time who always tell me they find nothing wrong. Well I had a freind in the passenger seat at the weekend and hit the motorway, low and behold... wind noise from around the door edges, sounds like the window is slightyly open. I would guess it is a door seal or adjustment issue??

Its goin back in at the end of the month but i hold no hope !!! 8 months warranty left so i intend to get it sorted

Thoughts anyone, same problems been had or had them resolved?

Cheers Si

My passenger often makes a bit of wind noise, it normally smells too! Its not speed dependant though.

My reply to a thread yesterday...noise was spelt wrong, so maybe why you didn't find it!

It's nothing to do with the door seals, or alignment of the doors. Its the seals around the rear door quarter light. The non moving small window that is. I had exactly the same issue on my old 55 octavia vrs, and have the same issue to sort on my friends 04 2.0 tdi. Obviously the design is different on the estate cars, so this only effects the hatchback models. You'll want to get some standard all purpose black silicone sealant from b&q or somewhere like that. You'll be able to clean up any overrun, but black is best to blend into the rubber seal just incase! Do exactly what this guy says and it'll sort the problem.

Just noticed you said it's a 2010 model too...shame they haven't fixed this simple problem!

I have the exact problem and just got back from the skoda garage..... They have changed the front door seal as its still under warranty... Not yet tested it yet but hopefully that has sorted the problem out .....

I had this on my 59 plate. Silicone in the rear quarter window sorted it.

You will need to put silicon on the inside behind the rubber surround, fold it back with your fingers and run a bead right around where the metal comes in contact with the rubber, let it go and it should squeeze the silicon into all the gaps. Doing the outside doesnt solve the problem as there is still air rushing around inside the door cavity and then coming in from around the inside seal.
