Curse the skoda superb

Featured Replies

I have had to many car changing thoughts since the new octavia came out.

I have been a front seat passenger and rear seat passenger in a 2.5 tdi superb driven at approximately 40 mph average by my stepfather till he changed for a new octy.It was very nice, full kit etc

This weekend I drove a mates 1.9 tdi comfort......and I want,want,want one :D .

It is fantastic and has made my octavia vRS seem like something out of the dark ages! So fantastically refined, sumptuous, great czech limo.Big and lovely.Getting back into my car felt like getting into a thirty year old cortina I am afraid to say :o

I just cannot believe I did not buy his car that he part ex'd for the new octy. Superb 2.5,20 k miles,2 years old, every single bit of kit for

Good luck tracking down the right Superb. I went from an Octavia vRS to a Superb 1.9 Comfort and never regretted it for an instant! Only reasons I'm back in an Octavia are:

1. Drove an Octy II 2.0D and fell in love with it, especially the DSG

2. Hatchback more practical for carrying kids bikes and so on

3. Superb is incredibly long, which made tight manoeuvres difficult

4. I never really got used to the handling

But it was a lovely car - Sherlodge Skoda have it on their forecourt for

Loz, It's make your mind up time

Hello I have a Superb 1.9tdi 100bhp for sale,nov 03,38k miles,silver,full Skoda history for

I had a look around one in the showroom while I was at the dealers yesterday, must admit if there was an estate version I might have been tempted to have had one instead of the Octy.

Just a thought but might be worth a quick look at the local VW dealership as they are virtually giving away the old shape Passat's now :D

My daughter's partner has a Superb 1.8T and. Not the quickest of cars and the gearchange is not as precise as my Fabia vRS, but it really is a very nice bit of kit and does what it was designed for very well.............not a B-road sprinter but a brilliant long distance cruiser. After driving the Supperb I still love my vRS but it does feel like an upholstered roller skate for a while. Soon in the market for a family car and really stuck between a 2.5 TDi Superb or waiting for a new Octavia vRS TDi Estate.

l have just changed from an Octy vRS to a 130 Superb- http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t31995-my-new-130-tdi.html - . and while the extra kick of the engine and the extra feel/power of the brakes are missed, overall, l think it has been the best move l have ever made, the Superb is just that :thumbup:

Just returned from 2,000 mile journey thru' Europe - France,Belgium,Germany,Austria,Italy,Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

Bought the 2.5 tdi Superb Elegance 4 days before leaving and it did not miss a heartbeat, even on the mountain passes 5,000 feet up in the Alps.

Fantastic mid range torque to enable caravan/lorry overtaking on the two lane German autobahns before the ultra fast M5's/M3's/RS6's caught up with me as they zoomed into my rear veiw mirror.I think I gave them a little surprise before they went past at 140mph......

After my Audi A6 Avant 1.9tdi (130bhp),I feel the V6 Tdi Superb is on another level.

As we returned to England,we tried to think of something we need on the car that it does not have that I have had on any previous cars and the only thing we could think of was the clock on the Mitsubishi Space Wagon, which would change the time automatically according to your time zone on the continent......otherwise there is simply nothing......

The boot space is amazing - simply eats up the luggage.

Lots of Skoda Octavia's seen in Austria and only one Superb in 2,000 miles!

Regards

Miko

They still are quite a rare site ... if you read Skoda's annual report, the sales volumes are miles below those of the Fabia and Octavia making them very exclusive beasts. I'm still surprised each time I see one. :)

Pop down your local cab rank then, we've all got em at the mo!!
