Thinking of getting a GPS based system and Argos are currently doing these for

I have both a GPS type system (PDA and the free pocketgpsworld database) and a Bel 550 detector. The GPS is good but it relies on knowing where the cameras are and it cannot know where all the mobile laser sites are.Having owned several detectors, Bel and particularly the ones designed for the European market, are the only ones I know of that detect cameras before you are on them.

The Bel 550 gives me at least 400 yards warning and because it can be configured to ignore individual frequencies, it does not give me false triggers from petrol stations and the like. It is amazing how it has restored my driving sanity and removed the stress that these cynical money making devices had generated for me. Expensive yes but worth the money in my opinion.
