Car feels choked up when accelerating from standstill

Featured Replies

I hope someone might have a suggestion..

When pulling away it feels as if my car is choking a bit, once I get into a higher rev range it's fine. Could this be down to the air filter, and would an induction kit help? I noticed it even more after I drove a technicians car that I was using as a courtesy car yesterday (Mk4 Golf 1.8t with Stage 1, Induction kit, Milltek). With that car the power delivery was smooth and strong from the off, whereas in my car I have to be fairly aggressive with the accelerator pedal when accelerating away if I want to make rapid progress from standstill - which nearly always results in plenty of wheelspin :-( I had an anti lift kit fitted yesterday to help reduce wheelspin and axle tramp, and whiteline ARBs f + r to help improve the handling

My car: Octavia Vrs 2010 Tsi (current mileage 17,000 miles)

I have the following mods on my car:

Full Milltek and Stage 2 remap. Pipercross panel filter

I always use Shell Optimax

Any help / advice would be appreciated
