Well, after lots of perseverance, I've finally convince SWMBO to get a Yeti. I was almost convinced she'd say 'guess what, I'm getting another Golf' but no! She's ordered a Yeti Elegance Plus Edition (German spec). All I know so far is that it's a 140 GreenTec with 16" alloys, a six speed manual in Corrida red with a black roof, and lots of toys thrown in for a very good price. Delivery is due for around the end of July and I can't wait! I'll be taking a look at the project threads and I'm sure I'll have a few questions to ask such as 'what would a Yeti be like on air-ride' :rofl: (as a prospective Yeti owner, it's a legitimate question )

Sounds nice - but what's an 'Elegance Plus Edition' ? Is that the German name for the L&K, or does it sit between the Elegance and L&K ?

Good colour choice. I saw a red one with a black roof in a showroom in Aberdeen, and it looked fantastic. Would have ordered a 170 Elegance in red + black, but the L&K came out with all the toys that I couldn't resist . Unfortunately the L&K isn't available in red here, or with a coloured roof, so I had to go for 2nd choice of steel grey.

The Plus Edition is a special edition where they throw in some extra toys/ spec for free, so SWMBO went for it

SWMBO's from over there and still has good contact with the dealership (VW/ Skoda) and her mum buys from them for her company. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it (unlike NickP)

For some reason the Germans seem to think that their teenage daughters are neuter. I suspect their teenage sons don't see it that way...

Not knocking your (SWMBO's) choice in any way, but I'm not personally a great fan of unmatched roofs.  You pic of the new SM, however, with the sunset rear glass showing up particularly dark reminded me of the classic drophead coupe.  Something like this, perhaps.  Just a thought  :

Thanks DC, I'd already sussed that that can and will be done in Maxidot. The dealer changed the language to English when SWMBO asked
