At least Toyota deal with the problems efficiently and they are doing a recall for cars which are over 9 years old.

Agreed. However they have no choice as this feature is a safety item, not somehing like high oil usage...

    Well I will be buying a Toyota soon so hopefully it won't go pear shaped, however as above at least they are doing something about it rather than sticking their heads in the sand
