Hello Again!

My scanner has arrived, and I get the above code, and after looking on google I find this page: http://www.permoveo.ltd.uk/tabid/122/OBD-Error-Code/P0422/Diagnostics/Skoda/Default.aspx

and it tells me it could be The optical sensor, the PCM or ECM.

So my questions are what is the optical sensor? I cannot find this on Google, and also what is the ECM? Is that also known the ECU?

Thank you for your help, but you have sent me to a page on P0442 when its P0422! But it did help me out, I think the problem is the o2 sensor!

Oops sorry about that. Ross tech site is the place you're going to find the correct codes for VAG cars though.

I've never heard of any optical sensors on a Octavia.

Neither have I, after some more looking I think it means oxygen sensor, and I think the problem is with the downstream one! But thanks for showing that site!

I would be checking for air leaks first, just because it has a fault code for it doesn't mean its broken
