faded paintwork

Featured Replies

hiya guys wondering if you can help what is the best stuff to use to bring back faded paintwork as the only thing i no of is t cut but also no it can be brutal on the paint just looking to make her look a bit better without going over he top anyone recommend any good products as she usually just goes through the car wash

Machine polishing with a polish compound like Scholl S3 and refine with S17 or S40

What colour is the car?

Red is more susceptable to fading and more difficult to correct

so do u guys think t cutting it would be worthwhile or not

No...

Never used T Cut..

Its too aggressive

It was originally formulated for Cellulose paint not modern water based acrylic paint

so what would be best to use hand polishing to restore colour back as the spoiler and bonnet are really very faded any of you guys have a good product that will even restore some colour and bring back some sort of shine that isnt t cut all help is much apreciated

As above. Gtechniq P1 is awesome. Will give your arm a good work out but you needn't do it all in one day.

There is a kit available of, 100ml P1 Polish, 4x Microfibre buff cloths and 1 trifoam polish pad.

Simply use the white side (firm side to apply a small amount of polish and rub in straight lines up and down then left and right, and repeat till your happy.

It's water based and so can be merely wiped off should you want to check your progress. As said it's water based so no oily residue and has no fillers masking any scratches, what you see is what you get. To protect the finished result use either a good wax or try Gtechniq C2v3 sealant, simply apply and buff, the remainder can then be watered down 1:1 for top ups or 2:1 for a quick detailer when ever you fancy (though best to make up the remainder as and when you need and want to use it.

Oops nearly posted a link to a risque female car wash posted on another forum. Doh!
