Thinking of getting rid

Anyone know what an 11 plate 20k is worth?

Same as all the other 11 plate vrs lol

Well I was offered a few different prices from garages varying from £8500-£9700 for mine.

Less than what I was expecting, was hoping for £10,500, but one of the dealers did say they had heard about the TSi oil burning problems so they'd want to shy away from taking it in p/ex :wall:

Trade In Clean £8,800 - £9,400

Trade In Average £8,300 - £8,875

Trade In Below £7,775 - £8,275

That is from CAP, although no options have been specified.

Good photo and for me absolutely no contests - vRS any day!

I still do not understand why people go for Part Ex when for a day of cleaning and dealing with few time wasters they can earn (judging by the figures quoted here) at least £1k and if lucky £2k... Easy money in my book!

Come to think about it for that money you could buy another 2 years warranty thus increasing sellability immensly and still be a grand better off...

Its easier with part ex, trouble with private sale is its always a bit of a gamble, say if you havnt sold the car before your new one arrives and you need the cash.

I know, it's just it is a rather expensive piece of mind and convenience if you see what I mean :). But hey, you may lose more money doing uour car up and selling it instead of working and earning in your job sooo.

People pay alot of money for peace of mind. A number of people on here have traded in cars that are working fine because they are worried that they might break sometime in the future when the warranty has expired.

But in alot of cases they will probably lose more in depreciation on the new car than a repair might cost.

Obviously you get a new car as well of course

If there is finance on the car it's way easier to part-ex it than sell privately if you don't have the cash lump sum to clear the finance yourself first. It might not be legal to sell the car to a third party whilst there is still finance owing on it. I for one wouldn't dream of buying a motor off someone if it still had outstanding finance etc. I suppose you could try to flog it privately without the purchaser (or loan company) knowing then clear it as soon as the deal is done..... But part ex will be easier?
