Hi,

I need a new battery for my Volvo so my dad went to to a local motor factors today to get one. He took the old one in order for them to give a direct replacement, which is 800CCA. However the one they gave was 660CCA. So other than possibly struggling to start the car in the cold what other factors would the inferior battery have?

Needless to say he's taking it back tomorrow.

Depending on how inferior it is, it can cause all kinds of electrical problems, not just a dodgy start. List is too long to write. But needless to say that when my mam's Opel (Vauxhall) had a dodgy battery and got a rubbish replacement, it did everything from lighting up like a Christmas tree to shutting down the servo, dashboard instruments, assisted braking etc. during operation. Its fun loosing all electronics while travelling at 70mph...
