Dealer Reluctance To Fit Cruise Control

Featured Replies

I am in the process of looking for an ex demo Fabia VRS. However, all that I have looked at have been lacking cruise control.

I assumed it would be a simple deal maker for the dealer to fit cruise and seal the deal. However, both garages I visited today have said that they can no longer retro fit cruise - At Skodas request.

Can anyone shed any light in this policy?

Are there any independents fitting cruise to 2013 cars?

Welcome to the forum.

Call Skoda UK Customer Services and ask if this is correct.

Possibly the reason is, because people are fitting the Cruise Control so that it can be used in conjunction with having a Re-map done.

Seems unlikely tho, because somebody will along hopefully to point you towards someone that will fit the Cruise Control for you.

Awesome GTI does but did hear about newer models been difficult/not possible.ight be wrong.

There is a kit but the two I have seen the wiring has been wrong in them. This is possibly why.

we have been waiting nearly a year to have cruise fitted to daughters monte, it was ordered with it from factory, but arrived without

after much discussion we have been shown a skoda document that said the kit had been withdrawn june last year and the dealer has pushed it up to skoda and we have been told the kit for the 12 reg monte's is due out in Q2 this year, something to do with ECU changes

Awesome GTI (Manchester) are the experts at retro fitting cruise control on VAG cars, they have done hundreds.

Ask them,if they can't do it nobody can.

I've heard (could be wrong tho) that its a dash-out job. Wouldn't be up for that, chances are it'll be cursed with rattles after....

It's not dash out, but if the kit is wrong dealers can't do it.

i thought it was just a process of just replacing the stalk and coding the engine for cruise control

On the Fabia mk2 to its more complicated than that. i have the Skoda work instruction and it involves drilling etc.
