1.4 engine reliability

Featured Replies

Please see my post in 'Fabia2' section, replies appreciated.

Erm why? I thought this was the Yeti section :/

Isn't this just a way round the anti cross-posting rules of the forum?

Oh and you've not even said, or linked to, which post about Fabias you're demanding people go and look at :/

Well I had a look (He said Please.)

The 1.4 122ps unit is fitted across a wide range of VAG products and I'm interested as a possible future owner.

Didn't mean to cause offence - what is cross posting and I won't do it again.

Thought I would get response from Yeti, Mk1 Fabia owners as well.Sorry.

Personally I'm not bothered but just FYI this sites guidelines say the following:

"4. Cross-posting is not allowed and can result in the deletion of one or both posts. Cross-posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more separate forums. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum. Please try to pick the most appropriate one and stick with it."

That's all, just don't want people ending up in trouble, but I'm a miserable old git anyway me, and perhaps the only one that read the site's guidelines and T&Cs and took them to heart. :/

awfabia, you have come to just the right place if you want a sensible informed answer....

Is cross posting in any way connected to cross dressing?

Back from sailing.

This does not seem to be cross posting of the type which the rules are intended for. The OP legitimately wants to get opinions on the engine concerned from all those who have experience of driving it. Other than posting in the Fabia and the Yeti sections how is he supposed to find it?

rather than just asking the question he has acknowledged the other thread and alerted Yeti drivers (some of whom have a reputation for tending not to look at the rest of the forum) to the fact that he's looking for info.

Personally if I was in a position to respond and saw this here in the yeti section then I'd be inclined to answer not in this thread but in the original thread in the Fabia section.

He's actually posted in a way which is likely to reduce duplication. Cross posting rules seem aimed at stopping people starting up numerous duplicate threads which just chew up bandwidth needlessly.

But then I'm not a moderator and have no connection with Briskoda whatsoever so don't take this as an authoritative view of the rules :sun:
