Mk1 octy vrs turbo noise

Featured Replies

Hey there the misses mostly drives the vrs but i had it over easter alot and noticed wen it comes on boost u can hear the turbo spooling up. Car is standard. Drives great. Has a bit of a dead spot wen it just comes on boost but pulls well after. My 1.8t agu mk4 golf u cant hear the turbo spooling up. Is it normal on the vrs or should i be looking for a boost leak. Cheers

Mine is loud enough, louder now it's got the revo. You can call up to mine for a drive to here it, and to see the difference in the map.

So the map a good job then? I havnt noticed the noise really before but i had it everyday for a week over easter then had my golf last week again and didnt notice it on it

Very good job, car is much much quicker. You can get a drive whenever mate.

You have the forge splitter on the golf dont u? Maybe that's it and it turned too much?

My turbo is very audible but I've got got a big CAI and an aggressive map.

When it was just mapped could hear it well. My mate has a completely standard one and can still here the turbo in that one too. I wouldn't worry unless you're noticeably losing boost.

The vrs is standard. Dont think its been mapped. The golf is standard except a forge split-r valve.
