DOT 4 brake fluid for Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

DOT 4 would be the normal grade for a road car IMO.

DOT 5.1 isnt really required unless you're tracking the car alot, but its all down to personal preferance.

I have a friend that upgrades all his cars to 5.1 where compatible as some cars are unable to run it due to corrosion issues.

Yes it's fine! Dot 5 is a mineral based fluid if I remember and only suitable for odd cars like old rolls royces and ****rons? Dot 5.1 is ok though.

Cheers, the dot 4 will have to suffice for now then

Maybe DOT 5.1 next time..

Good dot4 will do you well mate

DOT 5.1 will go in anything that DOT 4 will and can be mixed with DOT 4, DOT 5 can't. My motor factor gets 5.1 in to order but it's in by lunch time if I phone in the morning, it's fractionally more expensive than DOT4 but nothing to get excited about.
