Vapours on windscreen - Need help

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I'm not great with cars not really sure what is going on with mine. Yesterday the windscreen on the car started foggin up but when I went to wipe it, it wasn't water moisture but more of an oily residue. Then I noticed a gasy vapour coming out from the vent. Does anyone know what this is or had a similar problem. The residue is quite hard to wipe off and you can barley see through it.

Appreciate any help as like I said I haven't a clue

Your heater matrix probably has a leak. A major job to replace, I'm afraid.

I presume this is a main dealer job so ? Or is it something my own mechanic can fix

Also I forgot to mention there was a burning like smell as well

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Your question about main dealer vs local mechanic type job, would best be answered by your mechanic in my opinion. I mean, if he knows how to fix it, then why not save some money?
