Airbag Control Unit

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Recently purchased my first Skoda. Its a 2001 model, Fabia 1.4 and having a bit of a nightmare with it already :( When it was purchased, the airbag light was on. I spoke with my local Skoda specialist and he advised it'll be a reset or new sensor, etc. to clear the issue. So I went ahead a bought it.

Left the car with the him (specialist) and he tried to connect to the airbag control unit. No luck, so I think he then tried to connect via another route. Again, failure to connect. So he carried out some further check and found that the airbag ctrl unit has water damage. Hes looking into the cause of the water leak and in the meantime, quoted £350 for a new unit (part only).

Being on a tight budget, I'm just wondering if there are any other companies/people that you would recommend for buying a used part? The part number on mine is 1c0909601c. The index number is 02.

Would really appreciate any pointers.

Many thanks :)

One on ebay for 30 with a 14 day return policy item no 161008977436

As above a used part with warranty would be my suggestion but get the water damage issue resolved first as otherwise you could be doing this again.

Thanks for your help :)

Noticed that the letter at the end is A instead of C. Would it still work? Also, my techy advised that its critical that I get one with the same index number (02). Is that correct?

Found a few with more or less the same part no. but different letter at the end and index number.
