Hi folks. I've had the abs light come up on my Audi a3 quattro

it has 2 faults stored in memory

One relates to the lateral acceleration sensor which I knew was bust, not too worried about that

But the other is 01276 abs hydraulic pump 16-10 signal outside specification, intermittent.

when I clear the code it does come back but not straight away, if the engine is running I can can drive reverse out the driveway and it only comes back once I'm driving along. Battery is good, alternator is churning out the right voltage, I've unplugged the wiring harness plug terminals so far

Any pointers? my initial gut reaction to this is that is would more likely to be an electrical fault rather than the pump itself but i don't fancy buying a new pump that's for sure

right i just thought i'd follow up with the solution to this problem i had, it turned out to be the fusebox on top of the battery, it was caused by the terminals in the fuse holder being corroded, i was given the tip to look here by a vw oracle i know he says its really common on mk4 golfs/a3's etc. i just got a very fine thin nail file and cleaned up the terminals and sprayed it with swtich cleaner and chucked a new set of 3 fuses in and it sprang into life again.. apparantly its not uncommon for this battery top fuse box to melt on some cars as well

also oddly enough the lateral ecceleration sensor fault cleared after this too, which makes sense too i guess because it's connected with the abs controller..
