1.9 TDI Strange Turbo noise

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has any Ideas on the following.

Got my car serviced a couple of weeks ago (40K) and have since noticed that the power seems to be down. I also used to get quite a nice whistle from the Turbo as I accelerated, which now is very quiet.

This morning on the way to work had the windows down and noticed that when the Turbo is slowing down there is a very strange noise (phut, phut, phut). I have also just had the Air-con compressor change on Friday so could it be a lose pipe or something?

I fear that the Turbo has developed a fault, which is a little concerning as the warranty runs out on the 19th June.

Any advice would be appreciated

Get it to a dealer before the 19th!

Thanks DGW :D

It's going in tomorrow, Dealer is very helpful and mentioned that warranties can be extended if the problem has been diagnosed.

Had the Car 3 years and no problems up until the last couple of months, bloody typical. :(
