My Fabia is an 05 plate with 105k on the clock. Today I viewed and tested an 06 plate with 105k on the clock too!

Mine serviced to 90k with I think 4 previous owners, the latter 1 previous owner to 100k.

I was expecting the almighty whoosh hiss I get on my car signifying a boost leak but got a very silent one and a hell of a lot more power and less of a spongey feeling throttle.

Can someone please explain or help me figure out the difference in cars? Why is mine so much slower. Both cars standard.

so you're car whooshes and hisses cos you have a boost leak and is slower than a different car without that problem?

ummm mystery solved really.

Hmm..what I haven't mentioned is I've not been able to find any leaking seals, pipes or any sign of the noise and the other car had slightly the same noise but much much more muted, less turbo lag and a more responsive throttle!

The 06 plate could have the blt engine, which seems to put out between 140 to 150 bhp in some cases.could that be why it's faster?

Ever thought the other one could be remapped?

I dont think the woosh and hiss noises necessarily relate to boost leakes to be honest, its just turbo noise some just do it.

Other one had the BLT engine I'm sure because of the different EGR.. is there a big difference then in the engine? I thought it was pretty much the same?

They are 98% the same but the later BLT engines are known to produce a bit more power in standard format than the ASZ ones.

Yeah should be a blt, mines is a 56 and has the blt engine. Check your v5 it will tell you.

The change was around the 55plate, my 55 is an ASZ but danhams 55 is a BLT. Also the the SE came out on 07 not 06.
