There's a tap at the bottom on drivers side. But that doesn't completely empty it IIRC. I think you have to remove a pipe to get the rest to drain down.

I tried to use that tap but my FMIC pipe blocks it - doh!

Cool I'll have a look for that.

Cheers.

i tend not to use the drain taps on older cars, often they undo but wont do up again, if i'm draining a car ghetto way just pull the bottom hose off the radiator, or you can buy really cheap syphon pumps off ebay for like a fiver which come with a hose that is long enough to reach right down into the engine block through the radiator hose

If the coolant is filthy, and you are changing it anyway, take off the top hose then stick a couple if dishwasher tablets in there and re-fit it. Top up the coolant and run it up to temperature. Once it has cooled down, drain the coolant completely and re-fill with plain water. Again run up to temperature, than drain it once more. The water should be virtually clear now. Once the engine has cooled down completely you are ok to fill with a good anti-freeze mixture of the required strength.

Where are you guys refilling the radiator from? Expansion bottle? Top of the rad?

I did a tempory fill yesterday from the bottle,

The water/coolant wasn't as bad as I thought after changing the bottle over, I'll post a pic of the bottle later so you can see what I mean.
