antiroll bar help

Featured Replies

Anyone help had knocking under car so thought change drop links but I have noticed my anti roll bar has a lot of movement and then see some broken plastic fall off !! Think there from a sleeve one side is broken and other is missing, do I have to get a whole new anti roll bar or can u replace these seperate ?

And where's best place to get from?? Any help thanxs

Just get some smaller bushes, I've got some polybush ones you can have cheap, I never got round to fitting them to my car before I sold it.

Ow ok how much for them?!? How easy are they to fit! Looks like one bolt and a clamp that bends back? What do I do with sleeves

Chisel the sleeves off, clean the bar up and fit 17mm bushes/new brackets.

Ok where I get new bushes from and brakets? Or any one have part numbers or prices

Euro car parts or motex in wickford can't remember what size ARB is but go 2-3 mm smaller

Motex gave me a list of sizes and I just chose

Think they were standard golf bushes 17mm???

Should be able to keep brackets as outside dia is the same iirc

Might be handy to have 1 slightly longer bolt just to compress the new rubbers

Bushes are about £3.50

If you need any help let me know I'm just down the road

Cheers fella yh I have found the brackets just need to get the bushes! Do I just fit them in place and they stay there or do I need them sleeves with the bigger bushes? How bout cleaning up the anti roll bar as mines quite rusty

Best to drop subframe off it!

Standar roll bar is 19mm and utilises 17mm bushes

Wire brush yours up and hammerite it then fit new bushes

http://www.vwspares.co.uk/octavia.phpYoull probably need the new style brackets as the bushes have a ridge centre to locate them.
