Trim for Stereo Oct 56plate

Featured Replies

neither of those would be suitable, they're just for the basic manual aircon with Stream/Bolero stereo shape, you'll need the rectangular insert and a new fascia surround, let's see if Superskoda has them...

Ha! Those two you've linked to will be completely unsuitable then!

Based in Poland I think, I've had stuff delivered from there and don't recall it taking significantly longer, though I've checked on their website and they don't appear to have the required fascia adapter anyway.

Basically you'll need something like this kit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Octavia-Double-Din-Facia-Kit-Aerial-Antenna-Adaptor-Car-Stereo-Fitting-Kit-/350763728290?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item51ab25bda2

$(KGrHqF,!pEE63Yi!ovFBO61S,y5t!~~60_12.JPG

which will include the wiring harness adapter also.

It's difficult to tell from that image, but If you can find one that fits into the large gap left by removing the Stream you won't need a new fascia surround, but if all the standard double-din adapters are Columbus-shaped you'll need one of these: http://www.superskoda.com/octavia-ii/interior/skoda-octavia-ii-dashboard-plate-for-mfd-2-3-climatronic-in-alu-look

which you should also be able to order from your nearest dealer.

Wow, some kit.....

I'm still confused lol - it's just a standard double din unit I'm buying.... Kind of wanted to buy it all first, isn't just the facial needed. I hate ice always did even when I was a teen lol

the issue with the kit pictured above is the bottom of your center console would end up with no plastic cover.

Ring your local skoda dealer and ask for a pre fl double din facia trim. Make sure you tell them it has climatronic aircon and is 56 plate as in the pre fl there are two shapes of dash

No the point is that the surround linked to on ebay is *just* the immediate surround for the standard rectangular double-din, it fits inside the main fascia surround.

As far as I know there isn't one that would fit a standard rectangular double-din without the afore-mentioned insert.

This is why there's such a propensity for upgrading to a stereo that has a shaped front that has been designed to fit into the VAG dashboard such as the Bolero/Columbus/RCD310/Kenwood/Zenec/Chinese clone/etc.
