Can't help with the sidelights buddy but I've got these number plate lights and they're pretty good.

I use these projector style LED bulbs in my vRS, and haven't had any issues for the 3 months they've been in there.

I heard a few stories on here of the heat produced from the halogen bulbs causing the 'cluster' style LED sidelights to be a bit problematic, hence I went for these with a metal casing around them.
