battery warning, no start at all, but plenty of juice in battery

Featured Replies

As described- My battery warning light stays on, the car doesn't even try to start but I seem to have plenty of charge. I have tried jump starting. Again, the car didn't even try.

Anyone?

Possibly a bad earth to the block/starter.

Fuse box on top of the battery ok? Connectors going to the starter ok?

Will have to check all this tomorrow but... Fuse box looked fine. Could be bead earth- the thing has been a poor starter when warm, and I understand this is sometimes due to bad earth. Where is the earth- is it fairly obvious?

Check the earth by running a jump lead from the neg terminal on the battery to the engine / gearbox

Being a bit thick, sorry. Do I test it by trying to start the engine or am i just looking for a spark?

Try start it.
