FMIC & Hosing

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Having a few issues with my intercooler and hosing.

What does everyone run and hose kit wise. Could really do with some help as my hosing keeps popping off from behind the intercooler. Believe it's because it's just a cheap universal one.

Recommendations and things to avoid?

Thanks

having the same issues so would like to find a good alternative to the standard piping too but not with a huge price tag!

Most of us run the Seat Sport style cooler but there's a few with custom ones. Anything is possible given the time and mechanical knowledge :)

Get some pics up of your set up now see if theres anything that can be improved. Are you using jubilee clips or miklor clamps? Also what pipe is poping off?

I used a twinpass cooler of ebay and a mate mademy pipework everythn was new 200quid

I think if someone designed a cheap but effective full kit to replace current piping ( standard engine piping) that would be very popular!

I will get a photo later when I get the bumper off, and there not jubilee clips I'm pretty sure so in guessing they must be the other ones.

You can get specific kits for that cooler but I made my own. Little bit of trimming here and there. Worth noting though that you do need to cut load of the bumper and crash bar away to get it to fit.

I was going to make pipework kits like mines if there was enuf interest but there wasnt lol

Also are your pipes flared/beaded for the clamps to grip against? You say you have a cheap universal one so guessing it just has straight pipes. Replace your ally pipes for beaded ones if not and should sort the pipe slipping off problem.

Yeah one of my pals said to do this. He said it needs like a welded lip on the Ali pipes as such?

That why you mean?

it's quite expensive!

it's quite expensive!

All the cooler and piping you'll ever need tho!

I have all the cooler you will ever need on a fabia for around £300. Unless you go stupidly high power then the seat sports and the like wont be up for it either. Mine took alot of cutting etc though, more than some of those kits.

Been looking at the dark side kit, to be honest looks like a good kit from what i can see? Anyone else agree, or anything i should know before i buy one?
