Alright Guys,

I've just received my new sub box, from a seller on ebay, and gotta say i'm fairly impressed for the price...

Being that i've never actually installed a sub box before' date=' can anyone tell me what connectors i need to connect to the sub box connectors on either side - to me they look like banana plug type connectors?

Then there is the inside of the same connectors to think about - flat blade type connector me thinks.

Yeah those would be banana plugs on the side.

Can get one from Halfords.

Inside the box you'll probably need some spade connectors (female ones) again Halfords for those.

alternatively you could unscrew the connectors and this shoudl reveal a hole to push the wire through and you screw the top back down tight....on the inside id recommend getting yellow ended spade connectors these give you a bigger hole to put in a thicker wire

Also you will probbaly be able to take out the plastic port tubes and cover the holes up from the inside with a bit of wood that fit other the hole glued to the inside of the box..and then use sealent arouns the edges of the box and wood you have just glued in...walla one sealed box...

Which is fine, unless the subs are designed to be used only in a ported box, in which case you might end up with two empty speaker baskets and an attractive rubber edged doily for your kitchen table.

Thx for the advice guys, as for the subs, they can play happily in both ported and sealed(so long as the dimensions are right of course), its just me that prefers the sound of sealed boxes (tighter bass).

Would screwing the terminals down be a good(secure enough) connection though?

As if the banana plugs are best i cert dont mind shelling out a few more quid lol

tbh the connectors on the banana plugs are the same they screw down lol some are spring loaded...either way leads to the same results

ive run 148 db systems with the wires screwed into the termnials, i have used banana plugs but found them to be more of pain then anything else
