Fabia 02 1.4mpi wont start intermittent problem

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has had similar trouble with their fabia. My car works fine 99.9% of the time but all of a sudden wont start. The immobiliser light flashes which suggests this might be the problem. The car starts but the immobiliser cuts the engine out after a second or 2. I will be stuck sitting there for maybe 10mins or and an hour plus before it suddenly starts fine.

This has happened with both my keys so its not a key problem. Have had all the wiring and connections checked at a garage and thats not the problem. My wife is now pregnant and so i dont want this to happen to her and being stuck.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks guys,

Its more than likely the loom between the reader coil and the dash insert, replaced loads.

is it a big job to do? would it be something i could do myself or would it be expensive in a garage?

thanks for the quick reply by the way :)

Its a fair job, airbag, steering wheel off and cluster out. Plus Skoda dont sell the loom you have to make one.

sounds a little beyond me, i will have to get the garage to do it i think.
