Had the octy in for its service the other day and noticed a few things which it may fail the MOT on.

1 Being the rack has a little play in it..... (also the wheel dosent sit center) so thought, why not take this oppitunity to upgrade to the quick rack, there are a few racks on Ebay atm for a good price but im getting confused, Some of the part numbers mentioned in prev posts are being ebay listed as Mk4 TDI Racks......

Does anyone have the Correct P/N for the quick Rack. Audi / VW or Skod part numbers..... dont mind. just want though while i was under there i might as well do the upgrade.

So long as it comes off one and is original then youll be fine.

Was having a side convo with someone who has full access to ETKA and got the following:

having a look in the Audi A3 section I see that the normal A3 uses MK4 parts again, but the S3 uses an audi specific part number 8N2 422 061 H, but its only for Audi TT and S3. I can also see the S3/TT uses 8N0 part numbers for the track rods so I imagine you may need those too, and you may even need to change the bearing carriers, wishbones, roll bar, shocks etc to match but not 100% sure on that one.

I know the higher spec running gear differs, but it may be the quicker rack will still fit lower spec suspension?

Looking at the MK4 R32 I have part number 1J2 422 063, but this is for cars with 4motion running gear so may not fit properly in 2wd application? This part is specific to the MK4 R32 as well, no other model uses it

He is more of a Mk2 Man so was not sure on the vrs Tie rods fitting these racks but other threads have confirmed it.
