The new RS Octavia is coming out in TWO engine's one been a 2 liter DIESEL suppose to be around 170bhp I wont know the full details till another few weeks about what engine there using for the petrol version.

The roomer is that it is going to be the New Golf GTI engine but with a higher BHP

Yep. Has been talked about previously.

2.0 TDI with 170bhp & 2.0T petrol (as in the new Golf GTI) with 200bhp.

I thought by the title that someone had done a twin engined vRS then, that would be reading for sure.

Finding out the hard way? :o

A bit, but it's not too bad averaging out at around 35 mpg with four adults and a little tiny weeny bit of overtaking/acceleration now and again  now the green filter is in it's just started to find out how it should go

and there's the price difference between petrol 81.9p and diesel 86.9p to figure in as well so I recon it's costing about a penny more a mile

A penny isn't worth worrying about I guess. But if you drive how you say you do, you need to remove the lead lining from your boot, or it will be a lot more than a penny.

And diesel is 89.9 here now, 7p more than petrol, which is starting to bug me tbh.

I think at 7p difference I may be on a winner, thats what got me as well and why I don't mind the mpg so much.....the person who delivered my car got 42 mpg comming up the A30, M5 and M4 so not too bad at all ....mind you the 35 mpg I got was all on small A and B roads so it's probably about average for the car.

I get 53mpg average around town but the cost of the fuel makes me wonder if i should do the same as you and get a fun car. Either that or a Smart cabriolet. But then I know my luck and the cost of petrol will rocket then.
