I love my briskoda.

Snap? Although I bet mine is considerably less "brisk" than yours lol.

Haha! What/when was yours for?

Mine was GTi Springfest this year for fastest Skoda of the day.

Same show but in 2011. My first go up the strip, I didnt do well, all of my mates found it hilarious when they called my name out :D The only competition was a stock fabia vrs and a mapped octavia vrs. I think my best time was about 15 dead iirc.

What did you run? Your a bit handy up the strip arnt you? I seem to remember your name being mentioned back when I use to hang out with a local car club at a few shows at santa pod. :bandit:

Ran a 14.4 @ 95mph with 199bhp and most of the interior in (hadn't sourced some rear seats at that point!)

I think it was very much the same this year, no-one seems to go in a Skoda... in fact I only saw one other Skoda with race numbers on and that was on the way back home!

I wouldn't say I am too bad at the old 1/4 :) I know the commentator read out my "I like turtles" signature line and added "He also likes his reaction times" because I seem to be pretty handy at launching with sub .3 second reactions all day long haha.

Over all I very happy with the car, as iirc I hit over 600 miles to that tank including the runs on the day and this tank where it ran 199bhp its set for 650 miles all with 160,000 miles on the clock! I am very happy with the beast that is a Skoda!

Our cars are fairly closely matched then, 200bhp & 168,000 miles here. I wasnt that bad for my first go then, I'm sure a bit of practice and less nerves I could save a few 10th's. iirc my reactions were crap lol. MPG is great, done a whole track day last month, drove to and from the track (40ish miles) plus a whole day on the track with a tank.

Good time!

My best with 195bhp was 14.4s with a 97mph terminal

It does sound we have very similar spec cars powerwise atleast! Over all not a bad result imho but I feel that either the Fabia is a heavy old girl, or the gear ratio's at this power aren't as good as my Ibiza's. As the Ibiza with 165bhp ran a 14.7 many years ago with basically just a remap. How many miles per year do you do?

Is that in the Leon fella? Slightly higher terminals would indicate a higher bhp per tonne than my Fabia which would help me believe the Fabia is a right tank next to the Ibiza!

No was in my fabia vrs!

Was running a hybrid 150 turbo but on a very conservative map!

You don't happen to have the 1/4 slip? Would love to compare the 60ft / 330ft etc times and trap speeds?

Don't quote me but I think the one on mine is a PD130 hybrid? Built not bought you see :)

Glad I am hitting similar times to similar spec / power cars really. Shows its a healthy beast with a bit of poke that sips the black stuff!

No i dont have the slip

This was a good 4-5 years ago!

Don't quote me on this but iirc the 0-60ft time was 1.7s! (I think) might be way off!

That was with everything hooked up at the start! Was the perfect launch! Most of the other times it got were 15 deads!

I think you might be way off haha. 1.7 is like semi slick rwd with a diff land imho :)

I didn't feel my 14.4 was perfect in fairness, and the tyres I have on aren't my usual.

But cant really complain for such a all rounder!

Trust me it rocketed off the line and i think im bob on with the 1.7s my 15 flat quarters were with 2.2s 60ft's

I never got near 60ft times under 2.0, even running with a locking front diff and getting 13.6.

On a front wheel drive it's a big ask.

A lot of 600-700bhp GT-Rs running mid 10 second passes are doing 1.7-1.8 60ft times.

Congrats T.Spark.

Skoda are always hardly represented unfortunately.

It defo got a 1.7

Basically jump started it but timed it perfect and got away with it! Was like 0.01s reaction

Reaction time has no bearing on 60ft time Jase.

That's GT-R with launch control time with it's fancy electronics and rear drive bias.

I've never seen a front wheel drive be able to get the grip to get much under 2, unless it's a seriously trick bit of kit designed to compete in the Santa Pod Outlaw (front wheel drive) championship.

Oh okay my bad!

Maybe im wrong then :o

LOL. Sorry its not a witch hunt I promise!

But like Bossfox, my PB to 60ft was 2.03 seconds in my Ibiza running a 13.8 iirc on that run (must have half fluffed a gear change later on!)

We still love you tho :)
