Hello from scotland

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,I have a Skoda SUPERB 2006 1.9TDI.recently got a new alternator which wasn't charging the battery properly so took it back to motor factors and they replaced it. problem is the new one is doing the same,it will go for a week starting sometimes with a bit of effort then the next time nothing battery dead as a dodo.after jump starting it starts quite dourly for another few days then same again.it doesn't make any difference whether I'm using lights, heater wipers etc.voltage meter reading low 13 to 1380 highest, been told it should be 14 to 14.50 volts.I have fitted new starter and heavy duty Bosch battery in the last six weeks so sort of ruling them out.I cleaned all the earth straps which I've got to admit looked fine to me nothing loose or corroded.Would be glad of any advice from you guys before I have to bite the bullet and go to be robbed by the local autosparks,Thanks in advance.
