can you use a normal iphone/ipod cable

Featured Replies

Hey.

is there someone here that have tryet to use the iphone cable that comes whit you iphone in the new Oct.?

ore do you have to buy the cable from the dealer?

Not tried it, but should work if you have a USB on one end, but you may not be able to control the device from the console

I took Skoda at face value and ordered the Mitsumi Apple device connection. Skoda says "Allows Apple music devices to be controlled through the car's touchscreen system" so maybe it won't work without it.

Don't know if this can be retrofitted. Bit strange as with my 997, comparatively "old hat" technology (2010 year) but my iPhone contacts, music lists etc works fine through a USB connection.

Hi,

I tried an iPod in the USB slot on a new octavia at the dealers and it didn't work, so I ordered my car with the mdi slot at £100. I bought the required cable off eBay though for £5 as opposed to £50 from the dealer.

Can you might send me a link for the cable on ebay.

Here in dk it also cost around 55£ :(

You usually get the cable with the MDI from what I remember they supply the one you require. I may be wrong though

Sadly no. The brochure states "connection cable required, available from your retailer". Although having just written out a £20k cheque for your car I'm sure if you beat them up severely enough they'd chuck one in as a freebie.
