Hey, im fraz & ive looked at Briskoda a number if times over the last few years for info.Never been into forums previously but i joined up to the forum for my motorbike, its a fazer & the forum is www.foc-u.co.uk for anyone thats interested & the support on there is second to one.

So after seeing the use of genuine input to forums ive decided to join up here to discuss a couple of matters & share my Skoda experience so far.

I drive a 11 plate Fabia Greenline 2.Its my first really sensible long term car after a run of more sporty cars.Fabia is my first skoda but I've had a few VW group cars such as:-

-Mk2 VW Golf GTI 1.8 8 valve (red),good runner but rusting away, only kept it a year.

-MK2 VW Golf GTI 1.8 8 valve (silver), swapped my astra with my dad to get this one,my best car to date.

-MK2 VW Golf GTI 1.8 16 valve (red), ok this one i got for my missus at the time as i was still golf crazy but i owned a Honda Civic Type-R at the time.

-2000 VW Polo GTI (Red), nicely made little motor, my sister has it now & still a good motor.

-2001 Seat Leon TDI 90, chipped to 125BHP, got rid pronto when turbo veins started sticking.

So my Greenline has been a good car so far, it gets me back & forward to work, i tow my motorbike on a trailer with it no problem, plenty space for shopping & fuss free transport for the dogs & good for runs to the tip & such things that id be inclined not to do in a more desirable car.

Only issues so far are:-

-Failure of exhaust temp sensor in year 1.

-Failure of exhaust pressure sensor in 2.

-Crap real world mpg, ok so i drive it like ive stole it but even still i barely ever get 500 miles from a tank(usually about 450-470 & my average mpg is about 50mpg & i used to get late 40's outta my old Golfs.

-I'm convinced that my power output is intermittent.every so often i feel the car pulling like a train & more like previous bigger TDI's ive driven (ill post a topic up about this though)

-The DPF does my head in,never had DPF light on in 23000 miles but id love to rip it out regardless & release the car from its dreaded exhaust issues ( will also do a search about this & perhaps post up a question).

Anyway thats more than my fair share i reckon, fair play if you read it all.

Oh ive attached a pic of the beasts for good measure!, correction noi havent coz i need to figure out how to downsize the pic on my ipad,oh well!

Cheers

Fras

Cheers paul,good man

I was starting to think i smelled!,or is it a greenline thing ha ha, not the most desirable car i suppose.

Your spot on with the colours mate

It's a well known fact that silver is the fastest, only reason i got a black car is that having 2 silver motors would be too much to cope with!!!.

Plus theres a reason that batman has a black car, coz its the coolest of course!

Anyway thanks again for the reply,i aint in the huff anymore!

hi noggy....think you might have got a better responce if you had just introduced yourself instead of plugging your own site !!!.....

why oh why do people buy the fazer when there are better bikes on offer from suzuki and honda, the brutish bandit and the super smooth hornet .....

Ha ha fair one, i prob did look like a spammer, only good intent though & ill be sure to plug Briskoda if the credit is due.

So keeping it car then

Just did a 4 hour return journey to cardiff, kept up with the flow of traffic, returned a decent 65mpg for the journey & squeezed in all but the kitchen sink from the mighty costco ( uh oh im plugging costco now ha).

This little fabia estate really is a workhorse.

Thanks again.

Chow the now

thats better noggy........very polite :hi: .......we dont mind talking about other forms of transport,i do have an interest in motorcycles but dont own one...bet your glad you went for the 1000cc yamaha fazer rather than that awful underpowered 600cc bag of nails.

Well you know what paul, sometimes 1000cc is a bit too fisher price so ive gone with the fazer 1400,in silver & man that paint makes it so fast ive had to respray it 3 times as its like the space shuttle on re entry!..unlike nasas measly budget..& with me being the creator of everything fazer & all that...well i have plenty spare parts when bits start flying off!!!...not that they would being yam of course but you already know that.

I see youve got a skoda pick up,you should use it to do stuff like for instance..transport bikes, a little ramp, couple o straps bobs your uncle..maybe even a little project bike for yourself as you can never have too many projects, when the pick up breaks down you could just ride your fazer 400 off the back like that 80's wonder streethawk!!!

nice one noggy......i must admit i was looking at the 1400 myself, nice looking bike but that awful fuel injection system they use just dos`nt work, never has done on motorbikes, the sensible people go for the earlier generation one motorbikes which are i guess equiped with carbs.....stll the 1400 much better than underpowered 600,just about passable as a learners bike .

Do you reckon you could fit a bike on that pick up then?,i didnt even know a skoda pickup existed, would have been much easier than using my trailer, its surely a bit small being based on a felicia.& my 1400 is of course a bit on the large side with all those extra horses but it would be worth a try.

Your getting yourself all confused, the 1400 does have carbs, you wont see any on the net though, they're so rare.ill let you off, obviously bikes arent your speciality, your probably more interested in one of those big engined twist & go scooters, nice & gentle.probably handy for getting you down the bingo hall or to B&Q

I used to have a 600 & it would have been natural to go to the 1000cc,like the one youve probably seen.word of advice though dont do it as they are owned by old farts with more money than sense, the guys sitting at Mcdonalds car park saying look at me with my shiny bits.

Not for me all that rubbish,i like to keep mine standard & anyway i reckon my 600 was well faster than most of the 1000's because it was much lighter, plus of course it was silver.

not a bingo man myself, but i know lots of the members at my local knitting club who like a game or two.......i phoned the local yamaha dealer earlier to ask if they had a 1400 fazer in stock, the special one with carbs, your right they are rare, they said they have never seen one !!! but will give me a call if they find one...helpfull people....

not sure if i can get a motorcycle on my pick-up or not but theres plenty of room for my mobility scooter

Ha ha, i cant take this any more!

What colours your pick-up?, RED by any chance

What year is it- a 98!!!!

I rumbled you at the start when i clocked your pick up

People might actually read this crap & start looking for one o those bikes

Its been fun though

Sorry folks

I best post somethin skoda related asap before im chucked out!

Tee hee!

well done noggy......got to have a laugh....i use the pick up to tow my bike trailer, can get both the 6 and thou on the back with the tail board down....but much easier to load onto the trailer....enjoy your skoda matey but you will have a lot more fun on the fazer

there a good bunch on here, very helpfull when needed, have a look at TEFLON TOMS posts....very clever...

ok to set the record straight......noggy and myself are both members of the "fazer owners club" forum and i could not resist a wind up when he mentioned that he had become a brisky on the other forum.....the fazer is the better bike between the suzuki bandit and honda`s hornet....and there is no such thing as a 1400.....did`nt stop me ordering one at my local stealer though...he was happy to take payment in full.....noggy has the excellent 600 and lucky old me has the 600 and 1000 versions

the pick-up does an excellent job of towing my bike trailer......good old skoda
