Black vRS Scratches- Scratch X remove them?

Featured Replies

I always hand wash my pride and joy. Decided as the weather was hot at the weekend to take it to a handwash garage, let them wash it then I can wax it on return home. But once I started to wax (With Turtle Wax Platinum, By the way great polish Autoexpress rated it higher thatn Tech wax!) I noticed that the gits at the garage have left scratches on it!!!!!!

So am I correct in assuming that Scratch X will get rid of these?

Anyone?

Sorry to hear that.

It all depends on how deep the scratches go. If you can feel it with your fingernail then I doubt it. If anything will remove them tho scratchX will, so its worth a try. You may get away with disguising it if you apply plenty of layers of was to the area. This will make them less noticable.

As for those at the 'hand carwash' I wouldn't trust anyone to do a good job who was getting paid the minimum wage. I'll wager the sponge/cloth they use is also used to clean arches of 4X4's...think of the grit that will get embedded in that very same sponge they used on your once pristine paintwork. Live 'n learn I guess:(.

Had very good results with Scratch-X on black magic.

Is Scratch x availible from Hellfrauds etc??

They sell Meguairs products at our local Motorist Centre.

Thanks people. Will let you know :)

Turtle Wax also do a scratch remover which works well on Black Magic, available in tubes from your friendly Halfrauds.

flat and polish with 2000 grit wet/dry, put a bit of washingup liquid in with the water when flatting... then polish with buffer

you need a pc buffer

Got round to getting some Scratch X. All I can say is fantastic. With no effort the scratches were gone. No smearing or paint fade. In fact no paint came off on the cloth - superb result :)
