10 or 12 they have an s in the middle ?

Probably a T25 or T30.

Looks like a spline bit to me. I'ma guess M6

Yeah splines then sounds like, halfords will sell a rail with various sizes in 1/2" drive or buy online depending how soon you need them!

Its a spline bit, M6 from memory.

If they're the same as the ones on the Fabia, they'll be M8. I just checked.

Hi well I've taken the teeth of these nuts any ideas on how to remove the nut and replace ? I've totally screwed up

Grind a big line across it and try removing with an impact socket using a flat bit? Going to be tough now and I know they are torqued up tight.

can't see how you rounded them with spline bits! I thought they were capable of taking higher turning forces than Torx?

Not having the bit in all the way or at an angle is a good way to grind them out.

As I'm sure you know. :)

Seb, I'd suggest a hammer and a chisel. Considering they are going to be done up tight.

Tap a notch in the bolt head and use that to push the bolt round in the correct direction by tapping the chisel with the hammer to undo it.

Then buy new bolts.

Drill the heads off them is another idea

Good idea Richard I'm screwed anyway ! I've done my golf and sons arosa ! My name is mud here lol, where cani get these bolts ? Dealers ?

Why are you trying to undo them anyway out of interest?

Well initially I adjusted the doors as the golfs door seals as hey where squeaking so I adjusted and was ok but now the door is rubbing on the rear drivers side and damaging the seal, the door on the arosa didn't close properly so I adjusted after damage was done by another car, was fine but seems to have moved so I need to open and adjust the catch again , however one of the bolts are rounded and unable to loosen, hence my conundrum

Ah doh! Needs to be sorted then :(

Notch it with a dremel and impact gets my vote!

gas axe the ****ers :D

Lol or that, I do have oxy/propane in my garage and aren't too far away lol :p
