Monte Carlo Tech

Featured Replies

Just taken delivery of my Monte Carlo Tech. At this price and with this kit (and a proper gearbox) the case for the VRS looks a bit thin.

I hope you enjoy your new car.

What is it, you are saying,

is it that 105 PS & a manual gearbox suits you?

Thats good, and you will have bought a good value car, thats looks OK,

but thats a choice that you were able to make.

Horses for courses, & able to buy what suits your likes or your needs.

Hi, how's the new Tech.

Just had it confirmed today that mine is in the UK now so dealer says should get it next weekend.

Hope you enjoy it and looking forward to getting mine too.

My vrs brilliant only changing as mpg petrol cost If i could have a monte with a DSG no hesitation great gearbox

Ordered mine yesterday in white! Couldn't find much that compared on the market for the price. Looking forward to my first new car. Guess that confirms the maxi dot then. All the ones I've seen have it, think you have to for the nav/Bluetooth. Btw, how long from ordering to delivery was your wait? I've been quoted 2-4 weeks!

5th april ordered mine and changed from red to white about 3 weeks in you might get ESC/ESP

Doubt it. I reckon they're all just built to one spec and shifted out cheap. I'd be VERY surprised to get ESP!

ESP will be standard from june

June builds I take it. Don't think monte techs are factory build... All built and allocated to dealers as far as I know now...

I was in Skoda a few days ago and they weren't sure if it actually came with maxi-dot, so please tell us... what does it come with!!!

on a plus note, my Monte is getting built next Week, I even saw the build log for all the factory orders and where stage there in, so Techs are built too order!

Superrr!

Hasn't the Maxidot thing already been answered in other threads?

My understanding is that you automatically get it if the car has had Bluetooth specified; it seems that many dealers don't know that though. As an aside, when I was a salesman back in the day, it was my job to learn the spec. of the entire vehicle range, ask Head Office questions in advance of customers asking them, and generally be an expert on the product that I was trying to sell. Hey ho.

Anyway, if I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.

It is unbelievable that after the first enquiry dealerships do not find out from Skoda exactly what is on a 'Special Model'.

Skoda are rather vague tho.

At least somebody has delivery of one, that could have settled what the car came with if it had been said.

Still waiting to hear what the proper gearbox it came with is.

I often wonder how car salespeople spend their time when not with customers....they don't seem to put much effort into composing ads,for instance.

If you look at trade ads on Autotrader and the like the vast majority just seem to have the car's standard spec copied from the brochure.

They will often imply that standard items are extras but omit exactly what extra cost options are fitted, which really is one of the first essentials that I want to know.

Hello Paul B, Skoda 1982, Skoda 1982 waited 6 weeks from delivery till order. Was that normal or were you lucky? Delivery time is critical for me as current car is uneconomical MOT epic fail. How long did you wait from order till delivery? It's the only thing stopping me signing. Anyone else know the answer, gotta be 1.6 Tdi Tech.

Thanks, Keith

Can not confirm maxidot as car is in there compound. Will not be pdi'd till thursday

Hi keith,

I got quoted 2-4 weeks for mine. Apparently it was already set to be delivered to another dealer so as such was not a factory build. Hopefully be nearer 2 as currently without a car! That was a monte tech in white 1.6 tdi.

Hope this helps,

Jack

Thanks Jaws.

I heard a rumour the Monte Carlo Techs are in the country waiting for enough orders to hire some transporters to deliver to dealers who have pre-allocated stock levels to keep delivery costs down due to tight margins on the car which does look like a bargain. This would speed things up compared to horror stories of months for other models. It does sound like you got lucky though and it was a cancellation already on the way to another dealer.

Does anyone know if there are 1000 techs made and 'over here' just itching to be ordered and then, when enough are, delivered? Does anyone know a friendly dealer to ask? I need the car by 02/07/13.

Thanks, Keith

Not sure if it was a cancellation, I think it was just one or their allocated monte's from what I heard. My local dealer had sold all their allocation from what I've been told.

Hopefully it arrives soonish anyway. I don't like being without a car!

From what I've heard they are a very tight budget, hence why it was as hard as it was getting some mats thrown in! Haha. It does seem like a whole load of car for the money when comparing to other companies, especially with the peace of mind that comes with a VAG build.

I look forward to mine!

I have ordered the Monte Carlo tech and my dealer says mine isn't in the country yet - waiting for a ship to come across. I live in Grimbsy near where a lot of cars come in and can confirm they are not sat on the dock side here.

I have been told 2-4 weeks until I get mine - hope this helps.

Same as I have been quoted. I doubt they are just sat there tbh!
