For those of you unsure of this road, it basically links the M4 to the M5 via dual carriageway. It bypasses swindon. Its had Two accidents in a week. Three young adults killed in two seperate accidents. Sad state of affairs but you have to ask why? Both around 5am, both groups in their 20's.

never known an accident on that sliproad before and the big one this morning was on a straight part of the road....why seems to be the question being asked at the moment

5 young adults in a Clio 20 metres off the road points towards a fair turn of speed!

Be interesting to hear the medical report on the driver later.

The clio was an absolute mess when it was pulled out. Still cant figure out how they came off the road there

although rumours of drink driving are being banded about at the mo :-S

Hate to say it but at 5am it would almost certainly be drink or drugs with 20 something's. yes it maybe being presumptious but you don't come off the road for no reason. Two people were killed, and could have been a lot lot worse.

Seems to be quite often here or just plain dangerous driving!!!

I never jump to any conclusion on cases like this this. Who's to say I wasn't a drunk front passenger grabbing the steering wheel thinking they were being funny, it's happend before and it will happen again. I stopped drinking in my early 20's for about 3/4 years as I couldn't be doing with it, as a result I got turned into the taxi for every one. The stuff that went on in the car was unreal and outright dangerous.

Distractions in the car could be a cause.

I drive loads of miles every week and when on the motorway all you have to do is look around and you will be guaranteed to see someone on the phone, texting or whatever, a giveaway is somebody in the middle lane varying their speed and looking into their lap. Sadly this is not uncommon.

I am surprised at the accident on the A419 as it is a fairly straight dual carriageway.

A waste of young life, whatever they were up to or not up to.

I would hazard a guess at the probable causes being: too young, too inenxperienced, too fast, too many distractions.

It would appear that the three 20 year old males were thrown from the car...so no seatbelts then

It may well be human error of some sorts, unless of course there was a mechanical failure. No doubt the investigators will find out, but that'll be of little comfort to the families involved, which will be even worse for the drivers family if it turns out to be down to the driver as they'll have guilt and possible anomosity from the passengers families to contend with too. All in all a sad set of circumstances.

You can have a nasty accident even at low speed on a dual carriageway.

In one of the photos you can clearly see skid marks drifting from the 'fast lane' into the inside lane.

Why was she in the outside line. No other cars involved, so no need to be in that lane.
