Is this normal on a Superb 4x4?

Featured Replies

Hi -

I have a CR170 4x4 manual for about a month now.

I have noticed that when pulling out of junctions IE from stationary on a tight lock the car jolts or 'coughs'. I can't be sure if its transmission or something to do with the power delivery / throttle. It doesn't happen if I accelerate hard out of the turn. My thoughts were that it might be something to do with the 4x4 engaging of disengaging or the throttle.

The question for the forum is has anyone else experienced this and is it normal.

Cheers

John

Yes i started the "rear end bump" and having spoken to a chap who worked at vw for years said its normal at very low speeds when turning you can sometimes feel a judder/feeling, What he said to me was it was the haldex releasing as the system sets off in 4wd and releases if it doesnt need rear end traction, I too have noticed if you set of briskly you dont feel it.
