Does anyone know where I can get a metal MAF housing? Aluminium preferable. I've looked all over the net and can only find 3" ones which I don't want to have to start getting the car mapped agin for the sake of a larger MAF diameter. I need one so I can weld a adaptor plate on it.

Can I use a bigger MAF housing or will I have to have the car mapped again or with the ECU change the fuel automatically?

Cheers in advance

If you change the maf to 3" you would have to have the maf/injector scaling tweaked in the map.. Also if you get a ally housing it would need some sort of mesh to make the air flow correctly over the sensor. Lot of work/money mate, why the ally housing? What adapter plate you welding on?

You would need to sort mapping out if you go bigger

Also you need to fit the plastic meshing that's inside the oem maf as they don't like being de screened

Best bet is to stay with oem hence why 99% of people do even with 500+ bhp setups

Beat me to it lol

I ran a descreened one for years with no obvious problems !!

Out of interest why don't they like it ??

I've got a Simota induction kit and it was missing the metal MAF housing that connects straight to the induction kit but I make a links pipe which works well so I'll just leave it as it is. So you can't get a standard sized metal MAF housing?

I might be able to make up a adaptor plate, if you look at the picture you can see how it has pushed the MAF back.

I have a shark map on the car already and it needs a little tweaking for the serge problem so how much would it cost roughly to tweak the map if I put a bigger MAF on?
