Cam belt CR VRS

Featured Replies

A bit of advice

I have a 12 plate VRS CR and looking at the service book it states that the "toothed belt" should be changed at 180000 km for engine code CEGA.

Is the toothed belt the cam belt?

Is the VRS CR engine the CEGA code?

Having read a few posts on cam belt changes they say 4 years or 40000 miles or is this for a different engine?

So what is the 180000 km (120000 miles) the book talks about?

I can't answer your second question, but the toothed belt is the cam belt.

Skoda uk recommend every 4 years or 120000miles,however its been done to death on here about cambelts, all i can recommend is you ring your local dealer & ask them what skoda say. Either way on a 12 plate you have a few years to decide yet.

High mileage user as at 12 months I have just passed 26000 miles

So when the cars 4 years old it will have approx 100000miles on it? id be changing the belt then. (id still speak to skoda & see what they tell you & then you can decide whats best for you.)

Not that relevant to you but its closer to 110,000 miles

Had my dealer last week try and tell me my car needed a cambelt on this service :/ my car has just turned 3 on the 12th and has 43k on the clock and has 4 stamps in the book lol I think i will be changing dealers
